I just heard about your organization after blogging about the sex trade industry and World Vision. A friend told me about your organization and I posted an additional blog. Check it out http://j4strom.blogspot.com/2008/10/transitions-cambodia.html. I think you guys are doing great work! Keep it up!
James, I met you at a Prostitution Summit in NE Portland. You led a small group discussion about what has working in other communities. You told me that a good contact for our community would be Keith Bickford (?) in Human Trafficking. How do I contact him and do I have his name spelled right? Thank you so much!

About Me
James Pond
Hillsboro, OR, United States
I am the Founder & Executive Director of Transitions Global.
www.transitionsglobal.org. I manage and direct our non-profit, as well as, do public speaking on issues of sex trafficking and human slavery. If you are interested in having me speak, please contact Athena Pond at athena.pond@transitionsglobal.org
In the past, I had always been concerned about "what I would be when I grew up?" All of my friends seemed to have a sense of direction. Regardless of their goals, they seemed to be led by career direction or education goals - to become doctors, lawyers, contractors, actors, etc.
Yet, in my twenty five years of working - I have not fit into one particular path. Rather; my life has been a culmination of experiences. From my Marine Corps years, I have been a bit of a drifter. Even while in the military, I moved from one job to the next, adapting to each new change. I have done everything from real estate, investigative work, sold construction materials, sold plastic bags (okay, it was a lot more glamorous than it sounds), and most recently spent the last five years in Southeast Asia directing a major overseas project for sexually trafficked girls.
Now, we have started a new non-profit organization, called Transitions Global that focuses on Transitional Living Centers (TLC) to assist young girls that have been sexually trafficked, exploited, and abused with the process of healing and moving forward with their adult lives.
We are working in Cambodia, India, and the United States on providing holistic aftercare to survivors of sex trafficking.
This blog is a journal of our experiences, thoughts, and challenges as we embark on one of the most exciting journey's of our lives. We hope that you will follow along with us and even take the risk and join us on the journey.
